(What in the hell is wrong with you people?!!!)

According to the latest Gallup survey only 36% of Americans back the President’s response to the Russian invasion of the Ukraine while 55% disapproved. What in the hell happened to the tradition that when this country faces external threats, and this is a huge external threat, we all rally be around the flag and the President, whoever he is.
It is totally reprehensible that Republicans would choose to make this a political issue (only 11% of Republicans approve), but somewhat predictable given the highly partisan atmosphere that exist in this country right now. However, what is even more reprehensible in my opinion is the response of Democrats.
The Gallop poll showed that only 64% of the Democrats support President Biden’s handling of the Ukraine invasion. It is apparent to anyone who has paid any attention that Biden and his administration has done a superb job of handling this crisis. His careful dissemination of intelligence information has deprived Putin of whatever pretext he would have provided to the rest of the world to invade Ukraine and it has kept him totally off-balance. President Biden has been able to convince our NATO partners and other important countries around the world to impose sanctions on Russia and provide lethal military assistance to the Ukrainians to an extent that was thought impossible just a few days ago.
Yet only 64% of DEMOCRATS support the President’s efforts? Are the other 36% far left peaceniks who want no involvement in any military situation? Are they Democrats who want the US to bomb the hell out of the Russians in the Ukraine which is likely to evolve into widespread war in Europe in which the Russians are likely tactical nuclear weapons? Or are they so self-absorbed that they’re not paying attention.
In the long run, the poll results matters not. You can trust that the Biden administration to do what is necessary with regard to Russia regardless of political considerations. However, if you want to consider the political ramifications, if one third of Democrats do not support the President as he deals with the most important issue facing the country, what chance do we have of keeping control of the House and the Senate in the 2022 elections.

My guess is that most of the Dems who say they don’t support Biden on Ukraine want a more heavy-handed approach, due to their anger over Putin’s association with Trump and the 2016 Election, fanned incessantly by MSNBC and some other outlets during the impeachment hearings.
A lot of rage, built-up over a long time.
Especially among the centrists and “mainstream” Democrats.
But most folks I know on the left are horrified by Putin’s invasion and shocked he would act so recklessly and overtly in this case. Take a clue from TYT, who speak for a solid portion of the social-democratic left, IMO. Check them out.
We must face the fact that the specter of nuclear war hangs over these current events, and it must not be ignored.
Listening to Churchill’s WWII quotes (“we must fight them in the fields”, etc etc etc) may not be helpful at this time.
Following ANY neocon’s advice at this time could be existentially deadly.
So far, IMO, Biden is handling things well.
I respond to your last question first:
“what chance do we have of keeping control of the House and the Senate in the 2022 elections.”
The answer is slim and none.
For far too long, since Obama failed abysmally to oppose McConnell’s outrageous refusal to allow the Senate to hear Obama’s nominees in fact.
The GOP , and the extremists who control it, have worked tirelessly to drag this nation to the right. Despite defeats they continued to push the same agenda, with a combination of propaganda, slanted news, election meddling.
In response democrats do nothing.
