The following opinion piece was written by Leonard Pitts who is a columnist for the Miami Herald. It was first published May 10, 2015 in the Miami Herald and other newspapers where Pitts’ columns are syndicated.  I read it today in the Birmingham News.

I believe that while the example Leonard used in this column is a bit far out, I don’t think that anyone can argue that a loathing of the federal government has become a featured characteristic of the far right wing of the Republican Party.
