Like many corporations Waffle House is using the increased price of a basic product (eggs) as an excuse to the grossly pad their profits.

A quick Look at the math behind their the 50 cents per egg surcharge: The original lower price of eggs was already figured into their original prices of their menus items so they only needed to cover the egg price increase. (It doesn’t cost one cent more to cook and serve an egg dish.)

In February 2024, the price was about $3.50 a dozen. Right now the price of eggs at Walmart is about $5.50 and I guarantee you that since Waffle House buys eggs in bulk they pay a much cheaper price.

Even if they have to pay the full $2.00 difference, they are still ripping their customers off since they are charging ($0.50 x 12) $6.00 for every dozen eggs they serve.
